8th March 2022 — By Zebra

Zebra was established by a Woman in a Man’s World. June Robson founded Zebra on 26th January 1998 in the city of London.

To celebrate International Women’s Day 2022, we share some of our proud heritage and present day.

Zebra was established by a Woman in a Man’s World. June Robson founded Zebra on 26th January 1998 in the city of London.

June’s long and successful career included over twenty five years with the Burton Group (including Debenhams) where she made an outstanding contribution to both retail operations and store design and development. She worked collaboratively with the group to set up Zebra Projects in 1998. June lost a brave battle to cancer in 2009.

June built a successful team around her including our CEO, Mark Mason. Mark uses June’s guiding principles to help steer the business from strength to strength.

Zebra today has a well-balanced team, employing 175 people, across our 5 offices.

Company wide, genders are equally represented across our teams with a split of 48.45% male/ 51.55% female.

We are proud that across our leadership team the split is 54% male/46% female, with the difference being one person.

Gender has never been a consideration when recruiting for any position within our organisation, regardless of seniority.

We recruit based upon merit, talent and attitude of the individual.
