Colorado, uninterrupted.
Jack’s Modern Steakhouse occupies the former Mimi’s Café at 9155 Park Meadows Drive, an upscale two-story restaurant created to give Lone Tree an everyday escape on its own doorstep.
At nearly 15,000 square feet, and almost three years of design, development and construction, this was a labor of love. The restaurant had to hold uninterrupted views of Colorado’s Rocky Mountain Front Range from across the floor, so Zebra designed a clear-span roof structure that removed the interior columns entirely.
Providing both architecture and interior design, Zebra drew on the architect’s own Colorado upbringing, capturing the warmth and character of a modern mountain ski lodge while opening the building to the range beyond. Large windows, dramatic lighting and an open floor plan hold the connection to the landscape. An exhibition-style kitchen gives clean sightlines into the culinary activity, making the preparation of each meal part of the atmosphere. Private dining rooms sit across both levels, one with operable windows that open it to the outside. Two bars give each floor its own personality: an upper-level bar alongside the main dining room, placing guests at the center of the restaurant’s energy, and a more intimate speakeasy below that opens onto a private patio with a fireplace.
The result is distinctly Colorado. Warm, sophisticated and contemporary, and designed so that every visit feels like an escape to the mountains.
